Tea lovers rejoice the Four Seasons New York Downtown for now offering a highly curated high tea experience for guests and residents of the property. Bringing a contemporary twist to the afternoon classic, “There is something luxurious about a high tea experience.” says Executive Chef Maria Tampakis “I wanted to recreate this for guests to enjoy in-room but with a New York-inspired menu.”
The menu, designed by Tampakis, will have a homeopathic option for those inclined. “I added high-end Manuka honey and specialty teas with nootropic properties for those who are wellness-focused.” These tea offerings come from premium purveyor Rishi Tea, a vanguard in the sourcing and artisanal crafting of the beverage. Also available is a bespoke blend of classic teas for anyone desiring a more traditional experience. Rishi Tea is not the only luxury brand on offer for this culinary event, the aforementioned manuka honey will be coming from lifestyle powerhouse Flamingo Estate.
But what about the edible component of this sumptuous affair? Well, Chef Tampakis has created a delicious pairing of sweet and savory treats that are an homage to the city itself. An eclectic mix of tea sandwiches that pairs perfectly with New York-inspired patisseries such as mini-cannolis, black & whites, and rainbow cookies.
Downtown Tea is offered daily from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm via In-Room Dining at USD 189 per two persons and includes a welcome glass of sparkling wine. Additional beverages are available for purchase. Guests can order Downtown Tea through the in-room iPad or by calling 646 880 1571.
